Social Media Shoot | Ibiza

We partnered with Hotcam for this shoot to provide flawless audio recording for 8 YouTube stars and their 8 companions in Ibiza. Tinder wanted to promote their new double-dating feature on their app and so the shoots were framed around that idea.

To help support the shoot we provided 2 x dedicated sound recordists (Will Langdale and Steve Llewellyn) with Sound Devices mixer/recorders. Due to the high channel count we felt it best to provide 2 x 888 recorders with SL2 Superslot Wireless Modules allowing 16 separate recording channels. This would allow us to cover the main contributors as well as their companions for days when all 16 contributors were present at the villa.

The shoot was to be covered by 8 shooting PD’s as well as multiple fixed-rig hot-head cameras and a roaming DOP shooting slow mo and pretties. Based around a beautiful villa in Ibiza, with a fixed-rig director’s gallery and roaming off-site for PSC style shooting of the double-dates. These included quad-biking, padel-boarding, speed boats and tennis amongst other things.

Extremely challenging setups for the guys but Will and Steve approached it with cool heads and ensured top quality, flawless audio at every stage. Multi RF zones were required for shooting around the villa due to its large size and various shooting areas.

Will and Steve provided A and B mixing streams to be fed back to the gallery for the director and producers who were chasing story. Off-site dates also required water-proofing mics and packs for water activities as well as being completely self-sufficient for the day as there was often no access to power for battery charging.

Up to 18 Ultrasync timecode units were provided to ensure all cameras were in sync for every step of the shoot, allowing for a streamlined and fast-paced edit for the client.
